Wondering if anyone has experience on road cycling in Sardinia in late April or early May? Is it any good and if so which part and were's good to stay?
Any advice gratefully received!

It's worth doing a search. there have been a couple of threads about cycling in Sardinia. It's a lovely place with lots of great places to visit, great scenery and good, quiet roads.

April/May could/should be perfect, but fine weather isn't guaranteed.
  • I did a more leisurely tour with Dolcevita Bike Tours. They were really good, and very flexible, so might arrange a more custom week for you. Almost zero traffic and excellent scenery, roads, food and wine.
  • We live in Sardinia now, having first toured here 20 years ago. So we have 20 years' worth of experience on road cycling in Sardinia in late April or early May. One very well know event is the Giro of Sardinia whose organisers for years we've helped with English speaking participants. Where we live in Ogliastra there's an active road cycling scene and very good riding. We now run a B&B for road cyclists, mountain bikers (Peter is coordinating and writing one-quarter of a MTB guide to Sardinia) walkers and climbers. On our site there's a lot of info about road cycling round where we live, sample routes etc. Late April or early May is a good time to come. Peter
