i'm not sure which front derailleur to get for a ragley mmmbop..
the ragley website says it needs a 34.9 top pull one, so would this one be the right one?

Depends where it mounts on the frame whether you need a top or bottom swing.
And CRC are selling XT at the same price (top and bottom swing). The new SLX is probably as good, but XT always looks fancier.I don't do smileys.

Cheers,
I took a punt and ordered the one that I linked as part of a full groupset. I saw a post on another forum regarding ragley blue pigs where brant suggested that it didnt matter if a top or bottom swing mech was used as either would be fine. He also commented that he liked the compact SLX front mech. I took this to be the one I posted.
I also had a look on the Ragley mmmBop gallery and there seemed to be a mix and match to mechs, so I figured it [/i]must work right? [/b]0 -
I never understood top and bottom swing stuff.
I am right in thinking bottom swing is for full suspension and something to do with shorter seat tubes due to the suspension system???
Anyone care to enlighten me.0 -
Depends on cable routing along the top tube will be top pull, down the downtube will be bottom pull. Shimano do dual pull now so you use them on either.
