I like it when there's actual snow about, makes the cars go slower, when it rains they just drive faster it seems.

  • Snow rocks! It means you can get off the bike and walk to places like this instead! :D

My bike prefers the wet to snow, that's for sure. No rain just fog for me this morning and no traffic, was a great ride in

Rain and fog infinitely more fun than snow and ice.
Nearly fell off this morning - got all the way to work and then the bike slipped on the rotating metal car platform thingy in the goods bay at work. Thankfully it slipped half a second after I'd unclipped rather than half a second before

I stuck my head out of the window (to test the temperature) before getting dressed, so today I 'only' had long tights, 3/4 tights, l/s jersey, softshell jacket and one pair of gloves.

Items missing in comparison to the colder days we've had are: fingerless mitts under the big gloves, tracksuit bottoms over tights & 3/4s, l/s base layer, buff, second pair of socks.

I was a bit worried I had under dressed at first, but I got it just right. Lets hope that holds for the ride home too.

Snow and ice are fun for a couple of days 'novelty factor', but I prefer fog and wet roads to a negligible co-efficient of friction and double digit negative temperatures.

Yup, got the clothing just right for the way home, maybe even a little too warm, had to vent before getting sweaty.

I'm afraid the thaw is my fault, or more accurately my wife's. She bought me new cross country skis for Christmas!

The trails up here are covered in ice, not easily skiable or rideable. So I took the road bike out today for the first time this month and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm happy to say that skiing every day has done my cycling legs no harm :-)

Missed the snow (and riding in it!)

The recent snow is one which I resented the most. For the 1st time in my life probably...

... and before and after the snow, there is rain everywhere. Maaaaaaaan. :(
