Changing a steerer from 1 1/2" to 1 1/8"

I have been given a set of domains which the nice man at CRC said had an 1 1/8" steerer (it didn't say on the item description), they have turned up with a 1 1/2" steerer. As they are old stock (2008) they may not be able to exchange for the same model. I guess it's possible to get the steerer/crown changed but is it an expensive job?
Or should I return & get them changed for an alternative fork?

return and get alternate fork.
Steerer/crown exchanges can be pricey. CRC are great with returns so there should be no problems.0 -
I have exchange parts before. Woud quite like to use the Domains but they were old stock & very heavily discounted. Might have to go for a set of Sektors or Marzocchi 55'sTransition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Thats why they were discounted :roll:0 -
Send em back. Dont forget you will need to pay somewhere to fit the new uppers as well, probably costing £70+ on top of the part. Even if it is a Sale item, you have a legal right to return them under distance selling regs if it is returned within 7 days of you receiving it.0
