Look 585 Frameset - Italian or English Thread?

I have a bike build project for a friend in the New Year which includes a Campagnolo 11 speed Athena groupset. Does anyone know if a new Look 585 frameset includes an Italian or English threaded bottom bracket? Thanks.

Cheers Wooliferkins, are you 100% on that? Just want to be absolutely sure before going for it!

Only Italian-built frames come with Italian threads IME - everywhere else is English, including the Italian branded stuff from Taiwan/China e.g. Colnagos and Pinarellos.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • Although LOOK make some of their frames, I am not sure whether this includes the 585, which I guess is made by a Chinese OEM. You could get an unpainted 585 with huge saving, see here: http://www.bikeradar.com/forum/viewtopi ... 85&start=0

Me too, and I can confirm it has an English threaded BB

Look 585s used to be produced at Look's own factory in Tunisia - I suppose it's possible they've moved the manufacture to the far east now but it sounds a bit unlikely.

it's a hard life if you don't weaken.

585 is made in Tunisia and painted in France, the lower end Look frames aren't.

The above was not true when I built up a Pinarello FP series bike about a year ago. The frame was secondhand but the BB was definitely Italian and not English

Very sweeping statement and not necesserily true.
I have a very nice made to measure frameset, that was made by a uk based company and so carries their branding.
But has an italian thread bottom bracket.
Would concede , that they are italian tubes but theres no way you could identify them as that , without knowing.
constantly reavalueating the situation and altering the perceived parameters accordingly

I was very surprised that my titanium Eddy Merckx Gan team frame (possibly made by Litespeed) had an Italian BB shell.

Unsafe generalisation - my Merckx EMX-5 has an Italian BB.

...and so does my latest project - Pinarello FP4
