Ribble "sale"...Is it me?

Got an e-mail from Ribble this morning heralding their January sale…20% off everything etc etc.
Ooooh I thought, now’s the time to buy that TT helmet (Bell Meteor II) for next year…while it’s cheap and I have a good excuse to give the Missus…Saving money…good thing
Checked out the price and lo and behold it’s going to cost more (£87 odd) than it would have done earlier this week when they had the XMAS10 code on their website (£81 odd).
Seems wrong to me advertise this as a sale…anyone else noticed.

Well on the flip side, I ordered a pair of wheels on Monday, and the dam price has gone down today by £27.50.

Send them back as unsuitable (distance trading 'cooling off' period). Get refund and then use the money to buy the same wheels! Simple.0 -

I have already thought of that to be honest, but one slight problem. I haven't even received them yet to return them!!! They should have arrived with me on Wednesday, but we had at least 6" to 8" snow here on Wednesday and so Parcel Force didnt make any deliveries. As a result mine is one of thousands stranded at the main hub awaiting delivery. I was hoping for them to arrive yesterday, but sadly not. Maybe today then.......?
Plus, its gonna cost me in the region of £15 to return them, so in the end I would only be £7.50 better off. But on saying that, its better in my pocket than anyone else's ah?
Just need to get them first."You only need two tools: WD40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't, use duct tape"0 -
It's effectively an extra 5% off their prices on (most) lines.
They are using a bit of poetic licence saying 20% as they offer 15% off as standard.0 -

The joy of Ribble - there'll probably be a code for Turbo discounts along in the near future!
Always a gamble when to buy but I've found most of my needs recently far cheaper at Ribble than the other usuals; I've been lucky though - was planning on getting a Campag cassette for a while but they didn't have the one I needed in stock. I looked last week and it had turned up just in time for an additional 12% off Campag deal. I daresay it will swing around to another shop soon enough though......Faster than a tent.......0 -
Anyone know of a 'genuine' sale anywhere then with some real quality bargains? What wheels...? Wheelsmith.co.uk!0
