ok, two questions.
X fusion forks, does anyone know much about them?
Im thinking about buying a Specilized Big Hit 1 2011 and i noticed that with other FR/DH bikes in that range they have Rockshocks on, which i know are pretty decent and reliable.
So are they any good, the particular model is the vengeance.
also, since when did sarcen start making DH bikes?
the Myst looks lush, anyone know of a review somewhere?
also, if you could point out any other FR bikes under 1500 instead of the big hit then that would be greatly appreciated
Many thanks and happy holidays!

Scott Voltage? http://www.leisurelakesbikes.com/product/scottvoltagefr30mountainbike2011.aspx?&id=15269
The Voltage 30 comes in under budget, but the top-of-the-range Voltage 10 gets raved about in the media: http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/bikes/mountain/product/voltage-fr10-10-355040 -
X-fusion make basic suspension components (forks and shocks). They are actually not that bad quality although they are by no means great functioning. With the Big Hit, you are getting a basic entry level DH bike, with very basic brakes and simple suspension components. The frame is fairly, but you will find yourself replacing many of the parts very soon either through growing out of what the bike can do, or simpply breaking them.0

Saracen have only recently started the DH bike, launch was about November from memory, was in either MBUK or MBR (which I get using Tesco vouchers, would prefer MBUK but not available on Tesco and would rather spend the money on my bike!)
SimonCurrently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
cheers guys,
yeah i didnt really think they were that good, i found some reviews and they seem ok, but the problem is them breaking wearing out quicker than the more expensive rivals.
ive looked at the stinky and it seems a good choice as well as the scott.
could fork out another 200 and get a pitch pro 2011, hopefully some good offers after Christmas?2011 NS Core 2. Boing boing.0 -
Dirt raved about the myst, got into their top 100 products for 2011.

Ive got a Pitch 2010, all i can say is i love it. Pitch 2011 looks even better. Great do it all bike, but if your taking on harsh dh courses with big rock gardens it will need a few upgrades (rims etc)0 -

I've also got a Pitch, and love it muchly. However, the price has gone up a LOT in the 2 years i've had mine. It's a great trail bike, but for downhill racing, i'd look at something bigger.0
