it isnt doctoring, nursing scinecing or engineering therefore it should be done at night school.
  • Alot of the sports courses are considered science.

Plus do you not think something like accountancy or English should be studied at uni?

Accountancy genuinely shouldn't. Going into an accountancy firm at 18 and getting qualified while you work will get you to the same place a lot faster.

English shouldn't be studied at University, it is a waste of funding as it gets graduates nowhere.

And students wonder why a large proportion of the general public are not sympathetic with the demos against fees...

If your going to uni, pick one at the seaside, it's so easy to get drunk female freshers in the buff with the sea involved

You must be on drugs, surely? How is studying Elgnish in any way worthwhile? And why frikking london? If you're going to live on borrowed money for years on end, you may as well go somewhere where being alive is affordable.

hmm I guess mine was borderline...
I did Nutrition, so i could go and be a dietitian in a hospital. Its just I don't really like hospitals!

Hmmm I have to admit £50k debt is the bit I'm not looking forward too... but for some reason it was the place I had to go for.

And like I say, not sure if english is a subject worthwhile studying at uni or not, haven't got a clue what it involves so I can't really say yes or no.
  • I went to london to uni... biggest regret I ever had!

Is that Sheffield Poly? I spent a couple of nights there with a girl who said the lads at Sheffield were crap in bed...

I went to Newcastle Uni - now that is a party town. Also did engineering so pass that test too

Can't imagine being anywhere else at the moment though, there are only about 6 other places that do my course anyway. Didn't fancy glasgow or edinburgh, wouldn't have minded liverpool or nottingham, doubt i'd have got in at cambridge even if i'd wanted to and the one in bristol is to$$. I think London was the only one I really excited about going to.

    The Northern Monkey

From the midlands, been there a few months now, thankfully I didn't get in last year so I had a gap "i'm a failure" year to earn a bit of money towards it.
  • Ahh yeah I had a "gap" year too

i enjoyed it at 1st... but soon noticed I had nothing in common with the southern species lol.
ended up hanging around with a few blokes from sheffield and a few irish... just couldn't stand the landan lot

What uni are you at? may have been posted but I can't see it!

I'm at the royal veterinary college, thankfully my flat is mostly filled with midlanders, with one southern weird person.

Fortunately just seem to get on with most the people I've met down there, with the exception of an american who didn't appreciate 50 reasons why Britain is better than america... need to remember not to annoy angry drunk rugby players
  • Yea it was mainly the southern rugby lot I didn't get on with. for starters they were shite at rugby

But being at a sports uni, its was hard to get away!

Didn't study at Sheffield did that at Newcastle ( engineering ) but moved to Sheff back in the 80's and loved the place. I think you can't do much better than moving to here anyway and I do believe that it has one of, if not the highest retention rates of people staying and living after uni.
The scene in Town is pretty good focusing on Ecclesall road and Division street for bars etc. With the student areas being fairly close together through Crooks Fulwood Broomhill Hunters Bar with a small friendly village type atmophere associated with each of these areas.

Not to mention it's only a few minutes car journey to the peak district or Wharncliffe for the cycling.

You can't go to far wrong than accepting the offer.
I'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!
