Never to resurrect old redundant threadz or keep 'em alive, especially where the OP doesnt have the decency to reply and is probably deceased anyway.

    1. Ride more, even if it means using the trainer to get some miles in the legs
    2. Do a 'wild' ride (i.e. not a marked trail) for a min of 1 overnight. Tent or under the stars style. Work up to doing a full weeks offroad 'tour'

    Track!
    Er no, I've actually just taken up 'cross! Which might sound like it'll make life harder for keeping my bikes clean but strangely it has the reverse effect. You have no choice but to clean your bike after a 'cross race. In fact I'm quite proud of my bike-cleaning skills now - they've come on a treat recently. Having all the tools for the job ready at hand and a spray-gun attachment for the hose really helps.

    Not if you are married to your bike!

    Mine:
    1. increase the amount of commuting done on bike from 4 journeys a week to 6;
    2. keep up with the faster riders at the track and on the road;
    3. ascend Ditchling Beacon in under 7 minutes.

    I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.

  • Spend time with my dad as much as I can (he has Alzheimers and is getting worse)
    Get Healthy, lose some weight, strengthen the core and get rid of my recurring back problems.
    Think before I speak.....
    Keep guiding the kids in the right direction but try to do it with less huffing and puffing
    Try new things (thinking about sea kayaking)
    Some travel to less desireable places (to remind myself I am alive)
    Appreciate my friends
    Enjoy Life

    My uncle has Alzheimers and it's difficult to watch happen. You have my sypmathies there.

    What do you do for your core strength? I have a dicky back and so need to worry similar to you... I find simple stomach crunches (legs bent and at 90deg to floor, hands crossed on chest) work really well.

    A bit more for me:-

    Get my 10 times down below 25 minutes and maybe a sub 1.05 25
    Finish in the bunch in a road race
    Complete a sportive
    Complete the CLIC Sergeant 24 hour mountain bike event and make some money for a charity close to my heart, possibly do their 6 day trip through Britain as well.

    Yeah Ben, It's crappy but at least we have an excuse now when he tells me about his round of golf 3 times..... :)

    Makes it more difficult as I live in Dubai and he is back in Glasgow, but he just left after 2 weeks here which he really enjoyed.

    I do similar excercises to what you describe along with stretches, some ball work and back extensions.

    Was going well then I had a bit of a relapse last weekend (picking up a newspaper at the shop!!) so I've been at the chiro/physio all week again.

    I need to lose the gut, that's the key!
