Hi-vis Wind/Water resistant jacket advice

Hi,

I after a decent hi-vis jacket. Ideally I'd like a completely waterproof jacket that will fit in a back pocket but realise that this is unrealistic. So what is a good compromise?

I definitely want something that will fit in a back pocket fairly unobtrusively, so can anyone recommend a jacket that is still pretty functional on the wind & rain fronts.

This Botrager offering fits the bill as far as being packable and windproof, any good?

Thanks in advance.

Paul.

    castelli squadra long...

...good quality, decent price, scrunches up small

also, it's a snug fit, so you don't get driven insane by flapping fabric, buy on chest size and it's spot on (unless your waist is of un-roadie proportions vs. your chest size)

pbk have a discount code EXTRA10UK at the moment, gives 10% off

Cheers mate, my only concern with that one is that it looks a little too "fitted" for my current physique...

got mine from here. its a bit dirrerent model to mine but the prices are very reasonable, and karrimor make good quality stuff. why pay £60.
    the fit is pretty easy.

A good price, but does it fold up small enough to fit in your rear pocket?

Also, any venting under arm etc?

    Cheers.

mine is green and looks a different model from the picture. may be worth looking around in the shop. its one thin layer with some very light mesh inside and folds up pretty small. it would probably fit in a wide rear pocket. good double stitching its lasted well. doesnt have under arm vents though. has some reflective stripes. if worn in the rain it can get damp inside but is pretty water proof.

i recently bought a Pearl Izumi Zephrr jacket - £37 at PBK and very good at +3oC with just a 190g Merino underneath, only water resistant but very breathable
2011 Bianchi D2 Cavaria in celeste (of course!)
2011 Enigma Echo 57cm in naked Ti
    2009 Orange G2 19" in, erm orange

Don't think you'll be disappointed PaulBox, it's even a very hi-viz yellow - they call it Screaming Yellow I believe! I was surprised how well the water beaded on mine in a light shower, dunno how long it will stay that way with use of course but go for it

Just wanted to close this thread out.

I tried the PI jackets in Evans but they didn't feel very comfortable on my "large" frame.

I ended up getting an Adidas Clima365 jacket from Sport & Soccer or Ski & Sport or whatever they're called this week. It is designed for running but is cut long enough in the back & arms to use for cycling. It was reduced to £28 so worth a punt.

Thanks for all the help and advice!

    Paul.
