Hi.
Just read an article in cycling plus about measuring your resting heart rate.
They recommend taking a reading as soon as you get up in the morning.
My question is, if I work diffent shifts, do I take it when I wake up regardless of the time, or at the same time every day ?

Any help would be appreciated.

    when you wake up.

the idea is to get it when you have not done anything.

Also when you are warm, not if you wake up and your feeling chilly, it makes your heart rate rise.

It'll be affected by things like a sudden alarm too,
So it's often not ideal to do it every day.

I've just started taking my resting heart rate and I'm finding it's higher when I wake up than at around mid morning.

If your measuring it to find out if your overtraining (which is what I want to know), it probably doesn't matter when you do it as long as you do it at around the same time each day in more or less the same conditions (not after you've just found out you won the lottery for example).
