Stiff Steering

Hi,
I had by bike - Carerra Kraken - out yesterday for the first time in about 3 weeks.
It was a very cold day yesterday. I was only going to the shops and back but it became apparent in the first few yards that there was something up with my bike. It felt like i had a flat front tyre when trying to turn. The steering was incredibly resistive.
any idea what might be the cause? I was hoping it was just temperature with either the lubricant freezing/stiffening or the metalwork having retracted with the cold. Is that likely or am i looking at a repair?

sounds like time to give the headset a service.

Do that, but a screwdriver can substitute for most of the tools on that link
If the bearings are all rusty, replace the headset.
These are good for the money clicky as are FSA Orbits, as long as they have cartridge bearings.
If the bearings look ok, just pack lots of grease in and make sure the topcap is tightened properly. And now you know, and knowing is half the battle
