Hmm... Julia Bradbury! 8) Hoping she'll don some lederhosen at some point during an episode of Wanderlust.

A jockey and a darts player being in the top three is pretty stoumach churning.
  • would not mind seeing catherine jenkins in sporting mode !!!!!!!!!!
  • to be fair Phil taylor has achieved more in his "sport" than the majority of the rest by far.

if only the bbc were truely interested in cycling insead of chucking it on the red button occasionally without telling anyone

the biggest debate to come out of that program though....Jess or Amy :?: :o

By sport, you mean a pub game you play in your normal clothes and can play after 10 pints.

    Its not a sport

Next year's SPOTY Winner will be someone who excells at FIFA 11 on PS3 at this rate

I think it's because she received the third largest vote from the public.

I can't stand darts, but I know I couldn't throw successive 180s sober, never mind after 10 pints. You let yourself down with that comment.

You don't have to watch it any year as it's not mandatory, I follow quite a few sports and wouldn't give it the slightest shred of credence as it's an outdated award by about 25yrs.

Erm precisely where did I mention cycling or suggest it was the only sport

And am I wrong is saying that darts is:
    a) a pub game?
    b) something you can do in your normal clothes?
    c) can be done after 10 pints?

Sorry if telling the truth is childish

as i said before, all I said about darts is 100% accurate.

I can't score 180 sober or not and respect Phil Taylors skill at a pub game, but that is what it is a pub game not a sport

SPOTY might work if people voted properly: Success/achievements does not equate to Personality.

And, from the (possibly inaccurate) shm_uk dictionary:

"Anything that can be (and often is) referred to as a 'game' is not a sport".

    Therefore this includes the following:
    Darts
    Football
    Rugby
    Tennis
    Golf

All these fall into the same category as Swingball, snap, Kiss-chase, British Bulldogs and so on... just silly games... and all slightly childish.

Having said that I enjoy televised darts.

Horse racing is questionable as the horse does the majority of the work.
Diving is fundamentally exaggerated 'falling off a plank'. Gravity does half the work.

I may or may not be being serious, but sport is just entertaiment so ultimately doesn't really matter.

It is a sport just like Archery, you said you can't stand darts so why make the stupid 10 pints comment.

All I could do after 10 pints is pass out in a pool of urine so I take my hat off to anyone that can hit a dartboard after 10 pints.

    Tough call.

Have seen Jessica Ennis walking her dog in Sheff. Nice.

Thought Mark Cavendish didnt come across too well in his interview - didnt seem prepared for the questions with any meaningful answers IMO
