    I like the shot from the top of the building but the rest are plain awful.

    If you're interested, it's called "tilt and shift" photography. It uses lenses originally designed for architectural photography, with which you can have the focal plane tiled from being in line with the film sensor. You can also shift, or move the lens relative to the camera sensor or film, to reduce the perspective converging effect.

    But, used creatively, to exaggerate the effect rather than minimise it, you can produce all kinds of odd images, in particularly the strange "model village" look.

    Cheap way to get into it (if you already have an SLR) is with a lensbaby composer lens.
    Or... by detatching your lens, and holding it in front of the camera like they say, but you get various light leakage issues and dirty sensor issues.

    I have an SLR but I've never really learnt how to use it. I just play with settings and see what happens.

    To be honest, that's waht I do most of the time, but people tell me I take good pictures :?

    I mainly just take pictures of my penis. I use a zoom lens.
