awful
had to get up early to go to a presentation that wasnt useful, but that meant i would fail if i didnt turn up.
left there at half 10 with the aim of driving back home from uni (120 miles) and arriving before about 3pm. car was fine. went to the petrol station, filled it up with petrol (£55) and it wouldnt start, took 2 attempts, ahwell just cold me thinks, drive to my freinds to pick them up (like 300m from petrol station) and then wouldnt start and when it finally did, revved erratically, didnt think too much off it, but got to the end of their road and it switched off. wouldnt restart and so had to push it down the road.
called the AA (11am now) told them what happened and where i was and they said they would be there within the hour. went out to my car to have a look see if i could see the problem, opened the oil cap and spotted a yellow substance. thought ooooo shitt head gasket gone?
AA turned up within about half an hour (really amazing service, cant fault them for the whole day, they have been brilliant). chap was really freindly, couldnt really identify what was wrong, until he opened up the radiator cap to do a fluid test, and found oil
lots of oil
head gasket had gone
car is dead, and ive had it 4 weeks very sad person
mr AA man offered various ways to get me home, decided on hiring a car using their relay mobile service, so went to the local enterprise dealer. they had nothing, but told us we could find a car i could hire in watford but id need insurance details, so had to go to MY house to get all my details, did that, got the stuff out of my car from my freinds house and headed off to watford. then it started snowing. hard. so slowed the m25 up massively and took us about hour and a half getting to watford (like a 20 min journey).
in this time i had to ring my insurer to tell them i was hiring a car, (im only 19, so have to insure it myself) woman was abit special, couldnt understand that i only had the reg of the car, i hadnt seen it so i couldnt tell her what it was like. but ahwell, got it sorted
got to watford. turns out i needed comprehensive cover not 3rd party, so had to ring AGAIN, to get that sorted, thankfully this woman was much more helpful so only took 10 mins this time. finally got the car. hadnt been prepared cause their works bay was frozen (fair enough, was coolllldd). however it also was sadly low on petrol, so was abit screwed and had to spend another chunk of money putting petrol in this car.
then got stuck on the southbound carrigeway of the m25 (my faultl, couldnt find the northbound so southbound was a better idea). went 2 junctions the wrong way (1st one was closed cause of roadworks) got the right way round.
got back to norwich, dropped my freinds off and was like 3 or 4 miles away, and then the snow returned. the last 3 miles took an hour just had enough at that point but finally got home
home now
tired.
oh and the AA did an amazing job really happy with them, just LONG day lol

-
well its from 5 star cars who advertise over autotrader, but i dont know how proper dealerish they are. why? is the 3 month warrenty thing my mum keeps mentioning real?0
-
Yes. Go straight back to the dealers or go to trading standards.
In the meantime, check out the TS website to see what they say.Trek Fuel EX 8 (2010)0 -

Instead of persisting through all that expensive crap, just give in after the forst or second crappy incident, and use it as an excuse to hang around with your mates.
Life can be as complicated or as simple as you make it.
Oh, and whoever sold you the car - maybe they didn't know the head was about to go.0 -
What car is it?0
-
peugeot 306, and i dont think that they sold it to me with the intention of it breaking, im just trying to find a way to get it fixed0
-
A 306? Just scrap it mate.0

Gutted.
How much did you buy the car for and how old is it? Head Gaskets are feckin expensive. It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

The head gasket seems to need changing regularly, the electrics are crap, the dorrs (and particularly the sunroof) don't seal properly.
Fun car to drive otherwise though, like a big go-kart. And lovely seats. I really miss the seats.0 -

If I could have my golf, with the "sports" (lol) seats from the 306, I'd be a happy man.0
-
the "sports" seat in my 306 had snapped somwhere underneath, if I put my foot down the seat would occasionally slide back
It was the cooling system that screwed up on mine, had so many holes in it haha.
I sold it on ebay with about 3 egg whites and a bottle of radweld in it for more than I paid for it hahahaha0 -
Yes but you lot probably had povery spec ones
On my 3rd now, had the '6' for just over 2 years all i have had to do is replace the battery
