Hi, I have tried searching for information on this but can't seem to find anything.

I'm looking for a cycle computer. It must have a sensor mounting for the rear wheel, cadence and be wireless. The spec of the Cateye Double Wireless is spot on for what I want. Is there anything else on the market for similar money?

    Why the rear wheel?

The reason you should have your sensor on the front wheel is because the tyre doesn't slip because it s not being driven, and therefore measures the speed correctly. The rear wheel, whilst pedaling (believe it or not) is actually spinning slightly faster.

If you put the sensor on the rear wheel you'll get elevated speed/distance readings

    Darren,

I went trough the same exercise, ending up buying the Garmin 500, (with Candace and Heart Rate monitor). You can switch between the back wheel sensor for Turbo work, and rely on GPS for your speed and distance when out on the road. It's a bit more expensive than the competition, but in my opinion worth saving up for. (if it helps, after weeks of surfing, the best deal I could find (for the black and white model because I'm a tart, and liked everything to match), was FAWKES CYCLES, £200 for the heart rate/cadence pack, delivered in 24 hours (top service).

See if you can find to have a look at
