Swinnerton Cycles located at the Cannock trail centre. (not to be confused with Swinnertons in Stoke - also a good shop though)
The owner is a no nonsense kinda guy, has even talked me out of spending money in his shop, which says a lot for how honest he is.

Ive had a bad experience with swinnertons actually-i was asking about some forks for my bike, and this guy recomended ones that were 4 cm shorter than the ones already on there. When I asked him about how it could snap the headtube and such, he said (and I quote) "it will just make the front wheel higher!"
I often go to Daves Cycles in Aldridge (about 20-30 mins from Cannock Chase). I think its a bit over priced, but they have a good service and lots of parts in stock.0 -
Have brought a few things from Bridgetown. They sem ok to me. Possibly a bit pricy but you can only go and see what they have. If anything takes your fancy do some price comparisons.
Have had mixed experiences at Swinnerton, some good, some less than impressive.
where abouts are you located?0 -

One other aspect I like is the mechanic there, each and every time I've had work done he makes a point of popping downstairs to see me while I'm paying up and goes through what has been done and why, any potential things to look out for in future, is happy to explain stuff to me properly.
Although not the cheapest shop by any means, I can say the same for a guy working for Paul Burton in Stafford too, very explanatory with everything.
I haven't found any of the other local stores to give this kinda after care service from the mechanics, just my experience though, I'm sure someone will be along soon to tell me different.0 -
