Anyone else a member of the CTC? There seems to some kind of second vote which I'm getting emails from CTC about, but still can't work out what they're fighting over.

Do all cycling clubs/organisations end up in argument?

Not a member, but I've read plenty about this on other fora- they're still on about trying to make the CTC a charity, with assorted benefits (if you believe the leadership) and pitfalls (if you believe the 'no' campaigners). For what it's worth, I'd say no. The organisation and finances are somewhat jumbled, they should sort those out before thinking of anything like this. I know some of the most prominent naysayers & I'd trust their judgement on this.

  • Yes, I have received a voting form.

I ought to read up on it before voting, which I'll definitely be doing since you get entered into a draw for some nice cycling goodies.

Dumped CTC membership - seemed that they were allot of talk with very little or no action.

Joined CTC for the 3rd party insurance cover and the mag to read to be honest. What I didn't expect was to be getting emails for the 2 factions squabbling over something I really couldn't give a toss about to be honest.

I just noticed yesterday that CTC have a £10.99 membership offer that runs up until the end of the month.

EDIT: Oh, and while on the subject of London Christmas offers, there's a list of cycle shops participating in the London Bike Show free rucksack and saddle covers here

  • I joined the LCC rather than the CTC. No particular reason why other than most of my cycling is now in London.
