Refurb...

So, this winter I am back on a geared bike!

It was a 7 speed shimano equipped racer, but I have upgraded it to 9 speed Ultegra STI's and generally made it more user friendly.

However, next year, should I refurb the frame?

Have the old style cable guides changed for new style, change the band on shifter hanger for braze on and have the frame repainted and chromed?

Also thinking about a good set of racing wheels! Any thoughts/bargains out there?

It is a beautiful British built 531c frame that is surprisingly light!

All in a tizz about it.

Getting lots of bits added can get pricey as I found out when researching my Mercian, hence I will be sticking with band-on mech & shifters.

I looked into this for the manky 531, but it ended up costing almost as much as a new frame in 631 to get what I wanted (allen key brake fittings, carrier bosses, down tube guides, second bottle bosses, etc plus respray).

In the end, I decided just to get it powder coated. Which reminds me, I must get it powder coated...

It's just a hill. Get over it.
