Any on here had experience with setting up and running a cycle courier company? I was thinking of doing somthing along these lines in conjunction with some other ideas i have. If anyone wants to have a chat PM me.

Try and get a copy of the tv series 'Streetwise', it's a drama not a documentary but should be interesting.

I would love to get hold of a copy of that. I used to love the series. Looked all over for it.

Maybe some of the forums should start a campaign to get the bbc to show it again?

  • I was a motocycle courier and have a friend who was a cycle courier. We both worked as couriers and controllers (directing and communicating deliveries). He set up his own company. The whole thing was extremely hard work and long hours. The last thing you want to see is a 'drama' on the glamourous work of the cycle courier. You need a proper buisiness plan, a very long list of potential clients and contacts in the buisiness who will be prepared to help you with deliveries you cant cover.
Have you ever worked in the industry? If not at least start by working as a courier, or better still in the office to find out the pitfalls.
I may be wrong, but you appear to be falling into the 'I like bikes so i will love a bike related job' trap. The courier buisness is absolutely not 'just about the bike'.
