I have a Montane primoloft jacket which I use for general outdoor use and feel that a properly designed bike jacket with primaloft / pertex shell would be great for sprint/autumn use - a windproof shell over the top would make it very warm indeed. I however wouldn't pay that price for anything if I didn't have the chance to try on. Lack of pockets would be my only concern - there's no point in having an all-day jacket if you can't carry supplies.

Your other choice is the Castelli radiation - not quite two jackets, but features an integral gilet and sleeves which probably makes it more flexible as you can stow the sleeves in the pockets.
