2011 Joystick Mk5 problems?

Has anyone experienced an issue with the new 2011 Mk5 where it switches off after Red eye micro is plugged in?
Even after a full charge mine does this every time. I sent it back to Exposure via the shop (that took 4 weeks!), got it back yesterday however while showing it to a friend last night it started the problem returned.
I'd be interested to hear what experiences other people have had with the new Joystick or Exposure.
