68-year-old Belgian passes away suddenly while at work in team’s service course
Omega Pharma-Lotto mechanic Freddy Heydens has died unexpectedly, the team has announced. The 68-year-old Belgian was at work in the team’s Service Course in Waregem, Belgium, when he suddenly collapsed; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Riders, colleagues and sponsors of the OmegaPharma-Lotto team are naturally devastated by this loss and offer their deepest sympathies to his wife, family and friends,” reads the statement from the team’s general manager Geert Coeman.

    Sorry, obviously not your best time of the month. Rather than just post a link, maybe comment on it or do something constructive rather than just blindly put links down that most people will have seen already.

    Being called a douche=bag by someone who relies on velo snooze is pretty funny though. GFY.

    Pretty much.

    The idea is that people see the news and then comment on it, and then you have a little discussion about it.
  • And where was the comment in the first post? Blindly creating a new topic for every piece of cycling related news just clogs up the forum. Sure it's a sad story but does it really need posting and commenting? I don't think so.
