Just been outside and that rock hard, concrete-like white stuff feels slightly springy underfoot. And I saw one of those rare creatures - a postman.

Some kind of epic all-day killer ride is deffo on the cards this weekend. Bring on the mud :D

Any idea what it's like on FTD and the Monkey, seeing as you're a cannocker?

Very mixed bag at the moment. The Chase seems to hang on to the snow fields and where the ice is bad, it's really bad but some parts of the Monkey and FtD (e.g. under the trees) are bone dry. The switchbacks and berms were sketchy earlier this week but if the temperatures carry on rising it'll be be mushy but OK by the weekend.
  • Thank fuq, the novelty of snow wore off as soon as it turned into ice

  • Not so much here. We have people doing the remnants of the process they do for making crack.. cheap and makes people totally insane (great times)

On the thaw here too. Might actually be able to get a proper ride in at the weekend... Or alternatively a Deadly Ice Ride, it's all good. Hey, might actually get the car unburied!

the thing I hate about melting snow is the defrosted dog turds that suddenly appear everywhere

Fingers crossed that I might get a game of footy this weekend. Even in Bristol, where we have no snow, the grass has been like concrete for 2 weeks.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

Can't believe how fast it's thawing here, my road's like a river. Car's still in a big ice cube though but I thought we'd have days of horrible half-melted hipbreaking ice. I miss the snow already

Took my bike for a walk yesterday rode up to my local trail as soon as i got on it found out that the snow is 12 to 18 inchs deep still totally unridable at the minute, pushed it for 3 miles or so and rode it about 100 metres .
So made an exit for the nearest rode got home washed the salt off the bike and went to the pub :)

Yep, first day I was able to walk out my front door and down the path without having to take baby steps.

My bike hasn't been cleaned for a month now since the last muddy ride so i'm gonna go get her out and give her a green fizz bubble bath and brush up and get down the gym.
