Missing posts for some users

If a forum member has many posts and I want to check what he / she has been posting about , why can I only find a small proportion (~10 posts) of a them... in this case the member joined a couple of years ago and has posted 100 or so.?

I'm considering making a (substantial) purchase and want to know that I'm not dealing with someone who just trades (or has posted about pranging a carbon bike :shock: )

    old post from before the merge of the forums. Or they mainly post in the classifieds and there the posts are removed after 4 weeks. this sometimes does not reduce the post count.

    I posted on the Classifieds forum earlier on, now the whole thread has disappeared?!

    It was the Shimano MW80 boots for sale thread.

    Any reason why?
