£ for £ is there a better frame than a Cervelo R3

The subject asks the question. I've got some money burning a hole in my pocket and the Cervelo R3 is likely to be my purchase. But before I part with my money can anyone else suggest a better alternative?

I too want the R3, if only I could pluck up the courage to spend the money.

The reviews are rave and at the moment the prices are excellent.

If there is a better frame I've not found it

I bought an R3 back in the Summer and I love it.

My only problem is that my 'winter bike', a Trek 1.7, is not in the same league and I really want to ride the Cervelo all the time.

I have an R3 and would highly recommend it. For something a little different have a look at Cyfac. In my opinion they are beautiful frames and PBK has a couple on sale for good money.

What's the story with the new BBright bottom bracket on the 2011 models? Are you going to get stuck with an weird BB size and few crankset options, or are they shipping the frams with Shimano adaptors? Apart from that, would you go for the 2010 R3 SL, or the 2011 R3 given they are a similar price?

Totally agree.

Seeing as Cervelo ripped off Canyon for their design I'd plump for the cheaper CF pro frame and fork.

Ridden both and imo the Canyon was better than the Cervelo.

what Canyon did Cervelo copy? When did it happen? The R3 up till 2011 hadnt changed for 4 years, except for the seat post diameter.

it was a much older cervelo that was the centre of the furore, the R3 was a different desing and not part of the suit...
