I'd like to vote more than once please.....and some more available options, they both seem way to pleasant.
  • The man's a footballing genius isn't he?

I'm really surprised that he hasn't tried to manage the team himself yet!
  • why he sacked Chris Hughton i dont know...
now Hughton is gone, watch NUFC go down hill...

I've never met him, so I don't know if he's obnoxious or not.

However, objectively speaking, the other three words describe him perfectly.

What the feck has Pardew got that Houghton didn't have?

I reckon Ashley is a lifelong Sunderland fan on a secret mission.

I'm a West Ham fan and Pardew almost won us the FA Cup. But still the decision bemuses me.

  • We have made more than a few silly decisions regarding Managerial appointments over the Years but sacking the man who got you straight back up when in 12th place above the likes of Everton, Villa, Fulham & West Ham is insane.

Pardew seems to be favourite, can't imagine what experience he has that they need so badly.

It's Newcastle FFS. Did he actually think they were going to get into the top 4 this year? The guy is clueless.

  • I think its to do with january window. you normally see a spate of stupid sackings in order to say to prospective players come and join a club with a fresh manager, a fresh outlok and hey you can be part of it all.

Sunderland fan here but the guy is clearly an obnoxious clueless fat tosser.

Thought Hughton was going well above par given the squad the Toon have. They destroyed us 5-1 in the derby, beat Arsenal and have been rather unfortunate with injuries. Perhaps if Ben Arfa hadn't been snapped in half then things might’ve turned out different as he looked class. Even so, they're 11th in the league when surely survival was the only real goal in the first season back up - and Given (see what I id there) the way he has seemingly stripped his business of it’s own assets.

Looks like he's got a job for his mate Pardew though who, from memory, has a terrific record in the Premiership.

Its absolutely nothing to do with the fact Pardew and Ashley are good mates from the casino they both go to

Its nothing to do with jobs for the old boys network

First time I've ever agreed with a Sunderland fan!

Just when I think I've seen it all at this club, along comes another poke in the ar$e from those Upstairs. Is Ashley 'running' it as some form of tax loss, or seeing just how much he can get away with before being lynched by the Geordie tribespeople?

Well - it means his mate has a job in time for Christmas so he can treat the family or is it so that someone can clean up on the bet they placed months ago that Pardew will be in a job before Christmas.

A manager sacked by a Premiership club- West Ham
Sacked by a Championship club - Charlton (were Premiership when he took over but Championship by the time he left)
Sacked by a League one club - Southampton

Yep - just what we want to replace a manager who took a club in crisis and expecting to be relegated to L1 instead he got them promoted to Premiership, and mid table safety

The Fat Cockney B*st*rd deserves lynching. Pardew will have an incredibly hard job to win the crowd over

+1000 spen666, my thoughts exactly except that as with most cyclists you were faster than me by 4.5 hours

Don't you know that the cricket's not on, or are you watching the replay in real time?

    Nope

Despite Ashley's best efforts, Chelsea still make the dumbest decisions regarding managers and coaching staff.

Can't understand Ashley's logic. When they went down nobody wanted to touch that club. Even Saint Allan Shearer jumped ship. Hughton brought them up got them playing as a team. Ok so they're not top 4 or even 6, but what the hell did "Fat Ashley" expect. Pardew has just been confirmed as the new manager on a 5 1/2 year deal. WTF? How ironic would it be if now the form really started to slip. I'm not hating by the way, I actually like the "Toon Army". Good club with good fans. Just ashame it's run by w*****s!
  • I have the greatest admiration for Chris Hughton. Although I'm a Geordie I don't really like football, but I tie my scarf with NUFC if I have too as many up here don't understand you don't have a "team".

Hughton has gone through hoops and loops for Newcastle with great dignity. He's had to deal with grossly overpaid lazy players. An administration that give players full contracts - no opt out clauses if they under achieved and were relegated. Managers that left or had heart attacks. Sneaky ex-players (Shearer) poking his nose in and playing the last 10 games in PL with doubtful tactics. No guarantees of new players........The list goes on.

Chris Hughton during all his time at Newcastle has displayed the very highest and best behaviour and dignity I can think a manager could do.

Fat ashley (doesn't deserve a capital "A"), on the other hand, is a Fat Bully (deserves a capital F and B).

  • Toon fan here too.

I actually feel sick. I was ashamed (arent we always) when CH was sacked, after all he did when the club was in turmoil. i would understand if the fat cnut came out and said 'look, CH did an amazing job, but he gone as far as i think he can, so before it all goes tits ive brought in Martin O'Neil or another big name'.

Instead hes brought in the guy show specialises in losing.

I'd go as far as to say there wont be another win this season as team wont be behind him, and will be asset stripped in the window to recover more money. Relegation looms again.

Another black day in a dark age for the Toon.

    A history of failure?

It's bizarre, Ashley wanted to sell for an unrealistic price as the club was falling apart, getting relegated and upsetting all the loyal supporters - the club is now arguably worth more thanks to Hughton and this is how he repays him.

    A very odd decision.

The thing that I find most odd about this is that Ashley has given Pardew a five and a half year contract. I wonder if there are any other Prem League managers on such a long deal??
  • It might be that as a 'mate' he's given him a long deal in the knowledge that if the rumoured new buyers come in an replace him, he'll get a fat payout.

Funniest thing is that he's on a 5 1/2 year deal.

It'll cost the club a fortune when he gets the post-relegation sack in June.

I like Newcastle United. They make me laugh

I think he's a wonderful person, almost saintlike. He should be applauded by all right thinking people, knighted, maybe even made PM.
He is like jeebus, the dalai lama, and Mandela all rolled into one.

As a Sunderland supporter anyway. WTF is wrong with him?
