OT: DVD recorder for Christmas (cycling from Sky +)

I'm suffering from pro tour withdrawal symptoms (twich :twisted): and next year would like to build up a stock to re- watch over the winter. Budget £ 100 - £140 for a recorder (all the wife will stand) any recomendations? No need for a hard drive.

The Sky + manual makes it sound easy to transfer - anyone else doing it? Any Murdock snags to look out for?
