Coloured Chains - how do they wear?

Hi.
Has anyone got experiance of using red, white or gold coloured drive chains?
Do the red or white ones "Chip" or the colour wear off excessively, leaving a rubbish looking chain?
anyone know if the gold colour plating would last longer than the red or white "Painted" finish?
Thanks

jr's bmx has a green Gusset half-link chain and it is pretty good. The green is anodised and although it rubbed off the rollers very quickly, it has stayed on the sideplates and pins and still looks sharp even after several months of neglect.0

some ok, some poorly.
it depends on the chain.
and if it is a geared chain or not."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Same here, youguns BMX has a white painted chain and it still looks good after 2 years. However there is no shifting therefore no mechs rubbing it as it's pushed between rings.Northwind wrote: It's like I covered it in superglue and rode it through ebay.0

Good point - a bmx chain just goes round and round...0

I have a Gold KMC 10SL chain and the gold shows no sign of wear whatsoever.
I am sure it will be binned from stretch/mileage before there are any issues with the gold.
Cleans up well and looks top as the only bit of bling on an all black bike.0
