The best [EDIT] trail centre Cafe in Wales [/EDIT] is closing on 15th Dec 2010. Owner Ian Luff has got a double decker cafe bus at Brechfa and will soon have another catering vehicle.

  • I wouldn't say the best bikign cafe ever :p but it was certainly pleasent enough. Depends who gets the lease and what they do with it.

It does worry mind, as it is pretty good and where you compare this to other bike centres where the cafe's are awful Afan, C-Y_B and so on hmm wait and see i guess.

It is a shame as it was a good place to chiill after a day out and get a good feed. It did remind me a bit of my youth in Whistler. A bit grubby but a good vibe.

The bike shop were talking about keeping it going, that would be good I think.
    Many happy trails!

That's a crying shame, great for warming grub in winter and a cold beer in Summer.

The big blue bus at Brechfa is great, had - I forget the name it's MOAB or something like that, but a massive breakfast bap - left me feeling uncomfortably full, but happy.

"Not the best bike cafe" Not arging, but where's better? Always looking for a reason for a roadtrip to another riding spot.
  • Llandeglla has a better cafe,

C-Y-B up to a few years back which was taken over, used to use good local organic produce and so on, now it's just a naff little forestry cafe :(

And hear dof a few good one's in Scotland, the best i've heard of is also losing it's lease.
  • Have to agree re Llandegla. Top cafe espesh on a Wednesday night after freezing your bits off! That said Whinlatter & Grizedale have top Cafes as well. cant say the Scottish ones I've visited are up to much though and at the risk of being controversial, Glentress can only improve when the new buildings open.

Flameproof jacket on and firmly buttoned up!
  • I meant "best trail cafe in Wales".
Llandegla is pretty good too, I agree.

Good point Llandegla is really good, even if they skrewed us last time their by stopping hot food at some unholy early hour 3-4 from memory, was starving too.

Now I think of it Cannock had a good one, but I'm a sucker for ice cream.

I agree the C-Y-B cafe is not great but it's ok. Its redeeming factor is the location. Superb.
    Many happy trails!
