My Giant came boxed, all I had to do was to attach the stem/bars and the front wheel and I was off.....great service from them..

  • read the t+c on paulscycles website!

Here at Pauls Cycles Limited, when your place your order we pick your cycle from our supplies and remove the cycle from its manufacturers box in its un tuned state, we then fully setup and inspect your cycle checking gear cables, bearings, spokes, tyres – in fact all parts supplied with the cycle. Occasionally cycles are supplied with headsets to press in or hydraulic disc brake kits to build up and fit. We also check the cycle for any sign of damage to paintwork etc.

This process can take a fully trained cycle mechanic up to an hour to do. – Just imagine receiving a box full of parts that require fitting!!

After setting up and checking your cycle we then re package the cycle in its original carton. Minor reassembly is required at your end with just the front wheel to install along with the handlebars and pedals by completing these easy steps you’re ready to ride!!

There have been threads saying the bikes aren't always set up very well though.

They come in a box so might need a bit of fine tuning, but that's half the fun of getting a new bike - fiddling.
Good company though, excellent prices, fast delivery, and helpful on the phone.

I have to say both my bikes were far from ready to ride. They state that they set them up, but both mine were atrocious, and my emails stating this ignored.

That said, the prices are amazing.

Nevertheless - check them over thorougly.
  • Totally agree with the prices, i got myself a good buy. Should be here today so we shall see. Im looking to fine tuning it to my taste :D

Had to take mine to the LBS to set up as the front brake was sticking and the spokes in the front wheel were bent where it had been badly packed (which had also scratched the L/H crank). It still was A LOT cheaper than normal but if I buy from them again I will think of the bike as 'seconds' rather than brand new.

The bike I got from them 18 months ago was fine, brakes fine, gears fine only the rear shock and ttyres needed setting to my own liking.

Why are MTB economics; spend twice as much as you intended, but only half as much as you wish you could afford?

I've had 2 bikes from them this year (second was a replacement for the first that was stolen :( ), no problems with the setup on either, excellent service all round and great prices.
