Whats the conditions like currently. I'm thinking of doing a night ride there tomorrow evening (Tuesday) with a friend.
It\'s not your aptitude but your attitude that determins your altitude

  • Was up there yesterday, the fireroads and bridleways are pretty grim - frozen deep ruts - trails on Pitch were Ok, but very frozen and crispy while the trails on holmbury were so clear you'd think they had been swept. I did BKB and the one that starts from the car park at top of holmbury crosses Radnor road and runs parallel to BKB but below it, dont know the name of that one.

Dont park in the Hurtwood Control Car Parks unless you have a Defender or similar!

Also Radnor road up to Holmbury hill from Peaslake has closed signs, but people were driving up.
  • Great summary Andy. :)

We rode out over last night around Pitch Hill and Winterfold Woods too and found very similar conditions.

The fire trails were incredibly rutted with frozen ice, but the trails themselves, whilst frozen solid, are almost completely free of snow under the trees. Walking Bottom car park around the corner from Peaslake was like an ice rink.

Off out tomorrow with Love to Ride from The Volunteerat 6:45pm for 7:00pm. Everyone welcome!

    Cheers!
