...one of these!

Has anyone on here actually used one..? I know it's really old-fashioned, but surely if the design has lasted THIS LONG, it should be a proven thing, right...?

Looks like I'm going to be doing a bit of cycle-touring over the xmas period this year in Ireland, so I need a more comfortable saddle than my current torture device.

What you guys think? Good choice / bad choice? Bearing in mind, I don't care at all about looks or weight - as long as it's comfortable!

so for that alone. great buy :).. and my old man said get some miles on it before you go off doing any long tours as they take awhile to 'bed' in

I had one many years ago and it only lasted a couple of seasons. I made the mistake of riding on it when it got wet (as in soaked right through the leather) and it "stretched" so much it started to sag in the middle, even after the adjuster at the front had been used.

    Couldn't fault it's comfort though.
  • Good news, I guess...

I need something more comfortable, and I've read nothing but gleaming reviews about 'em, but they've all been anonymous reviews, so...

And El Capitano - hows the sans-tache feeling now...? Still kinda naked, or normal again

Pics later. I shaved it off yesterday and have had my hair cut very short today.

TBH, I do feel a little naked without it, people keep pointing and commenting in the office. Perhaps this would stop if I put some clothes on...

It will be going onto (eventually) my On-One, ready for the Christmas period.

However, to break it in a bit, I will be putting it onto my full-carbon racing bike

I don't care much how it looks, as long as it's comfortable!

My dad has been using them for nigh on 50 years... gotta be a good sign right?
Though they are uncomfortable to start with, they do bed in and then they are very good.
