CIOCC San Cristobal ideas....

Hi all,
After much deliberation and lusting, I've decided to get a CIOCC San Cristobal made up for me as a Christmas present. Any ideas on specs from a looks point of view ( groupsets, wheels, stems, saddle etc ). I'd prefer to get modern parts but don't want it to clash with the look of the bike. Colour wise, It'll probably be white but it can come in a variety...
I do mainly sportive stuff, so comfort is more important than weight.
Any pictures any of you could find would be greatly appreciated.
Ta!

Beautiful!
I'd build it up with alloy Athena and Silver Deda finishing kit.0 -
+1 for Athena, got it on my lugged steel De Rosa.
Other suggestions:
San Marco Rolls or Regal, or Selle Italia Turbo saddle
Nitto finishing kit is really nice (from Hubjub)
Handbuilt wheels (try Total Cycling for Campag hubs)
Veloflex Master skinwall tyres
Enjoy!Alex0 -
Yeah, got to be natural sidewall tyres!0

Thanks for the advice....hmmm
Just out of interest 2alexcoo , what De Rosa have you got and how do you find it? They look lovely bikes to me.
I'm doing the Tour of Flanders on it this spring so will stick a set of Pave tires on it for that. Nitto stuff looks nice and so does the San Marco Regal.
It's hard to imagine the finished product and there don't seem to be many pictures of finished Cioccs out there on the net.0 -
If you want some decent-looking tyres rather than horrible green Vittoria Paves, try tracking down some Challenge Pariji-Roubaix. Agree on the Athena gruppo, silver bars, stem and post and finally San Marco saddleMake mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
