There was plenty of M'ing TFU involved with todays ride (by those that turned up). Only fell over once, and that was on the decking, walking into the Cafe... :(

Popped out today I think I kill my FWR off seem easier to ride on ICE them slush.

    it melting here thou :(
I only ride 'em, I don't know what makes 'em work!
  • you had better views than I did on Saturday!
was more sloshy ice/snow for me but parts were fairly unridable and covered in fog.

Riding on the ice/snow on your own isn't much fun, but I had a proper giggle to myself trying to keep upright

Fell off more times on saturday than I ever have!

It was a great ride, it was fun more than technical, punishing on the way up and a bit hairy on the way down, but great too see you guys again

eh? My brakes work when they're cold. Or is it just organic pads that need heat in them?

TBH, we only got any speed up on he fireroad back down at the end, so it wasn't really an issue.

  • Nah it didn't stop working, just after climbs/prolonged sections of no brakes they were frozen/covered in ice and snow and tended to be on/off feeing.
Had to drag the brake a bit to heat it up and get some feel back into them!

Oh right, I didn't notice it as a problem. There wasn't too much ice and snow being thrown up tbh, most of it seemed to be so frozen that it either stayed on the ground in sheets, or if it got flicked at the bike it just fell off.

And one more picture from today:

Edit: I'm going to feel really bad when it turns out they got eaten by a bear whilst on the way to the trail or something!

Ah, well I didn't plan it, so don't blame me, but I thought the invite went to everyone in the group.

shame the riding was so difficult, should have got some of these buggers, i reckon you'd be able to ride up a tree with them!!

Oddly nope, was nice and toasty, though I was wearing base layer and Gillet.

Little annoyed that I physically got stuck on one section due to the ice (whilst people actually passed, amused at my poor attempt to walk uphill on sheet ice) :( Which thinking about it was quite funny. Didnt go over whilst on the bike either. For a change.

I was thinkin next grouop ride, FODCA, Forest of Dean, Fairly central to midlanders/southerners/welshys,nothing too complex so everyone can do it, and it s pretty rideable if the weather is not great and its pretty short so its loopable and social more than technical
