Knee pads for short fat thighs
I bought a pair of Kyle Straits from CRC but when I tried them on they were too tight. I was going to exchange them for the larger size however measuring my thigh (now I know where the top of the pads will actually sit) it looks like that size, the XL, may even be too small due to how far up my lef the pad sits.
So it seems like my short legs plus fat thighs may results in me not finding pads big enough to fit comfortably. And I was wondering whether there were any other women who'd had and solved a similar problem.
(btw I'm posting this in the womens forum as they are generally shorter than men, not because I think every women has thighs as fat as mine )

I've got XL Kyle straits because my thighs are massive, they were fine, but now they are a bit loose - Sadly not because I've lost any weight, but because they stretch!
Next time I'd consider buying a size large and put up with the tightness until they stretch out a bit. So, if yours are just a little bit too tight, then I'd probably give them a few rides before switching for larger ones, but if they are cutting off your circulation, then I'd switch them for bigger ones now.http://i556.photobucket.com/albums/ss9/ ... lurLT2.jpg

i wear scott knee pads. same as kyle straits but with hard cap. i have huge thighs and wear a large. pads give after a few wears and you dont want them to go baggy and not hold on impact.0

If you can find some the right length the best bet is to then buy some extra velco and lengthen the straps, then is they do stretch you just take the longer straps off.
I have not found any that fit yet- am tall and 'large' and decided that this will be my plan- have the advantage of a gran who is a wizz with a sewing machine, so will get her to help!

Hi Suzy
When looking at Knee pads for both the wife and myself we went for the these

as they only have elasticated velcro straps and no sleeve to get on over your legs. The XL is good for 17.5 inch thighs which both mine and the wifes are. They do not have the plastic buckle connectors as shown in the right hand pic. The left hand pic is the correct one. Additional bonus id that they are on offer at the mo.

I think I have the answer for you... put them in a net bag thing and shove them in the washing machine! I did this with my Kyle Straits coz they'd gone so appallingly smelly and when they came out they'd stretched loads! Sadly now too big and I need new ones. Will get the same again though coz they are definitely the most comforatble. I too have really short legs and struggle to peddle uphill with them on my knees as so much fabric bunches up behind my knee. So, I peddle uphill with them round my calves and shins and then before the descents hoist them up and tighten them. Less of a palaver than you think coz you often need to adjust seat height , get psched etc before descending anyway!
Hope this helps
