Edit: Seeing as everyone else is probably stuck in snow, or sliding on ice.. I'll start one.

Morning cruddites, how are we all today? Loving the ice? I sure as hell am!

The ride in was sketchy, I had 2 little offs, and still have a wet left foot where the snow has melted. Must invest in waterproof shoes..

It's Friday though, a good day, as it's my work xmas do tonight, so shall no doubt get plastered on Ale... :D

Popping out to pick up various forms of pig for the team in a bit, I'm feeling generous!

Oh, and spent a bit of time in the garden last night, making this:

What are you 'orrible lot doing today then?

    Good Morning Mortals!

    TGIF indeed.

Today, I have applied for a new role. I have absolutely no work experience for it, but lots of personal experience that's rather relevant. We shall see...

Weather is effin cold, but still no snow. :( Bright blue skies and not a hint of wind.

Also, I'm a little disappointed in myself. I left this morning's 2nd breakfast pie (Chicken & Mushroom), in the fridge. Stupid mistake. As punishment, I'm going to have to purchase something warm and bacon themed. Might also have to dispatch a minion to Greggs for steak and pastry related purchases.

  • Still no snow here :(

    Lots of Ice though :(

Post is still not working :(

    Steak for tea :D
  • Afternoon everyone!

Drove in to work today, after scraping the car out of perma-ice. That stuff was stubborn! Anyway, turns out my ABS might not be working properly. I'm hoping it's just the cold that's made my car think it's not working, I hope so :?

I bought a spade yesterday from a hardware shop that resembled the shop off the "Four Candles" sketch. I love it! I will be traversing the Pennines tonight as usual, where according to the weather forecast, snow is due this weekend.....
It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

Fettling done, I'd been having phantom shifts, thought it were cable stretch or crud on the chain, so i went about cleaning it, and it kept jamming into the gap between mech and frame,

for some reason about a third of the chain was bent to an angle, new chain problem solved, but this is the 4th xt chain ive gotthrough on either bike now for differing reasons, so I've got a KMC on its way as my next spare

We've just had two severe weather warnings issued...
  • Well I feel productive now, got paper done and dusted, sent in and confirmation it was received by the professor. Which now means the huge part of this semester is done, I just have finals in a few weeks to worry about.

Man it feels good to have that over with.

    Here:

    http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/ ... nings.html

"Outbreaks of sleet and snow are expected to spread from the west during Friday evening and overnight falling onto sub zero surfaces. Snow depths between 5 to 10cm over the hills are likely. Widespread icy stretches and snow accumulations on untreated surfaces will lead to dangerous driving conditions."
  • Cool,

Bet it does't happen, driving home last night there was a weather warning on radio 2, Claiming heavy rain last night at midnight that would possibly freeze.. It was clear sky's hehe.

Thing is, the Beeb is also showing snow/sleet for the Valleys area overnight now. They were just showing rain earlier. TBH, I don't think the weather forecasters really know what's going to land where at the moment.
  • hasn't all summer, every time i went camping they said it was gonna hammer down, always turned out all right lol

Hmm, lets hope its not too bad for Sunday. I suggest we make a decision on whether its going to be likely to be open/rideable on Saturday evening?

I'm ok with it, just dont want to drive down from Wolvo if it is under feet of snow by Sunday

a bit of snow and or ice is fine though, and the cold is certainly not a problem

    This is a good idea.

TBH, it's not just the trail, its the whole route from the Midlands for the guys travelling down. Tewksbury and Monmouth have had it pretty bad this week.

I tried calling the Cwm Carn visitors centre today, around 11:00, to see what the conditions were like there, but there was no answer... :(

Theyre Snowed out lol. we shall see tommorrow night, hopefully the more favourable weather reports will ring true. This end is fine and I'm really hoping that Cwmcarn is doable on Sunday, but we will look at what seems sensible, and if we have to rearrange then so be it, but rearrange we shall do if needs must
