Wrong Front Mech delivered but will it work

I ordered from CRC an XT M771 front mech but what they sent me is M771-10 which I assume is the new 10 speed version since it also has the Dyna-sis sticker on it. I assume the cage will be narrower on this as I don't have another to compare it against. If it is narrower then I assume I will not be able to use this with my 9 speed set up and returning it will be easiest option. Can anyone confirm this for me?

Why settle for something you did not order?

Give them a friendly phonecall and I am sure they will be more than willing to resend you the correct part.

I would assume as soon as you fit and use the item, you have no leg to stand on if it damages anything or does not work.

Ring CRC and ask them, they may have sent you an upgrade part if the part you ordered is out of stock!
