never tried one, but I have had a deep fried silk worm. They told me it would be like a peanut. Not true.

Not quite, but the peer pressure on a tour bus in Shanghai makes you do the craziest things!

Has anyone eaten cockroach? Apparently they taste like prawns, in fact cockroaches are pretty much land based prawns, they scavenge around for cr@p off the ground/sea bed...

I had pan fried (like it'd make any difference) cod tongues in Newfoundland. No one there had eaten them before, so no idea what to expect. They're like pencil erasers at one end and chewy, tasteless snot at the other. Best avoided.

  • The Koreans have some, er, interesting delicacies too. Marinated sea slug was one of the less tempting ones, as was abalone "porridge".

Prawns are known as sea roaches in our house.

They pretty much are aren't they? If I could get my head around eating cockroaches I would....
