It may be cold here but not too far away in France at Le Monetier-Les-Bains it is forecast to be -33C thursday night. Wow! Anyone fancy riding the Galibier, spiked snow tyres of course, T-shirt and shorts

Indeedy deedy, but in Siberia the temp is expected to drop to -60C in winter, but not in mainland Europe AFAIK. The winds currently blowing over the UK are coming straight from Siberia and Mongolia.
