Kinked rear brake cable.

My rear brake's gradually gotten more sticky basically not returning to centre enough to turn without resistance. I've tried fettling the callipers to no avail. Is there any way to straighten it out i.e. a quick fix that'll work better than not using it until I can get to a shop and get a new cable?
I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.

How on earth has it kinked?

I can't see any fix short of disconnecting it until you get a new one, Wilkinsons supermarkets do reasonable replacements for 79p (inner only) or £1.04 (with outer) I use them on my commuter without any problems at all.

Sounds good but I can't see getting to a Wilkiinsons for a while.
