MTB for a newbie

My fiance would like a bike for Christmas to do some Sunday leisure cycling, however she doesn't want me to spend too much as she isn't 100% sure she is going to enjoy it (women!!).
The two that she likes are the Rockrider 5.0 from Decathlon and the Apollo Endeavour from Halfords. Being a roadie I would be grateful for some expert advice from people more experienced in this area about which one is the better bike, or are there better ones out there for sub £200.
Many thanks

Avoid the apollo they are shyte....Halfords Carrera bikes are good quality and usually better spec'd than anything else in the price range....The ladies Vulcan disc is a little over your budget but well worth the extra.
