which brakes would you choose out of the ones mentioned above, most likely both run with 180mm rototrs on a 140mm fs bike, i ride mostly xc/am around cannock chase, but go wales abit and plan on possibly doing the mega avalanche next year

Would also add Elixir R or CR great looking brakes with fantastic modulation and power..0

Wouldn't take me half a second to choose the Formulas. Though I'd go with the dirt-cheap Oros instead personally!Uncompromising extremist0

not really a big fan of elixers tbh, had a few pairs back at work with problems and im not a big fan of the lever shape.
tbh northwind im very tempted to push the boat out and get the green the ones on the formula website, they look the dogs 8)0 -
i genuinly believe my RX's on 180mm rotors have the power to pull my face off. They are great0

wouldnt even consider the elixirs
the rx's are a lot more powerfull outright but i still prefer the control, feel and ease of adjustment of the hopes.
The rx's are still very good brakes so its what you like the look of really.
theres a set of The Ones on formula web shop for around £200 they are well worth a look.0 -
Been running RX's for 6 months now, they are amazing for power and feel even with standard hoses. I had Tech X2's with braided hoses which didn't even come close to the Formula's. Get some RX's and beware of the faceplanting power of the 180mm front barke! Hope's look amazing, are trick CNC'd and are british but unfortunately lack the same power, my riding has been transformed knowing that I can let rip on the descents and still manage to stop if I have to.0
