Ended up walking to the office rather than going to work.
yes I dont work at the Office.
I was snowed in yesterday for the first time in 10 years. the new Landlord had failed to organize the snow plough. the snow was just too deep to drive out.
the path by the house
the bus stop
the main foot path
time for clearing the paths
and no I was not going to ride the bike

I would LOVE to see snow like that here. Sadly though, we just don't have the facilities to deal with weather like that so would probably not work out too well for a lot of people.0

Nice looking pictures you got there, we had a little snow fall yesterday but not enough to really get things going for the winter yet. Gotta wait a few more days or so then the storm begins.0

no snowboarding?0

If we had snow like that here, the UK would return to the ice age, literally.
I nearly got mown down today! Was helping my brother move flat on this appartment complex when a van came around 90 degree turn a bit too quickly... the snow had been compacted by tyres before, and was solid ice. Four wheel sideways slide: he nearly recovered it, but crashed into a parked lorry just a few feet in front of me. Probably good he hit that, or would have been me.0 -
Most car drivers in the uk cant drive well in perfect conditions, but when the conditions are icey, their still driving about like arseholes.
Motorbikes gone into Hibernation this winter as it was awful riding last winter. No snow yet, but too much black ice.
I'll stick to the comfy train0 -
That's brilliant Nick. If the snow gets worse, keep the pics coming. Puts the stuff on the news here to shame!0

They keep talking to reporters in Northumerland, Norfolk and Aberdeenshire to find out what it's like. Guess what - It's snowing! Get over it! Grrrr
I'm veryt empted to move over to Sweden, just so I can get away from the complaints of the snow and ice. Learn to drive!

Do you guys use studded tyres out there?0
-
yes and no.
they are banned in some citys and i believe that there is to be a ban on the sale of new tyres with studs.
But We have ti have winter tyres on from 1 Dec to end March if it is Winter conditions.
Winter tyres for the Nordic countries as made out of a softer Ice tolerant rubber than the ones made for say Germany/France"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

al the Government needs to do is bring back the Winter tyre rules that were in place quite some time ago."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

nicklouse Do they actually grit the roads in Sweden, or do they just tell people to use winter tyres, and then use a snow plough? Those roads look awesome!

some grit ( not salt) is used. but it is law you have to use winter tyres between 1 Dec and end March."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Now that's what I call snow. Whereabouts in Sweden are you Nick?"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0
