Just had a pair but for my birthday, but you have to cut the cleat hole yourself.
Surely they will just pull themselves apart once you cut the hole?

Make a very small cut and pull over the cleat, it shouldn't rip any further. IMO Assos should've come up with a better solution, though.

I never did get the 'socks over shoes' thing. OK with cheap ones - you're only wasting a couple of quid, but I cant see that the assos ones will last much longer than a pair of cheap sports socks surely ? And for the price you pay for them - overshoes arent that much expensive and a fair bit warmer ?
  • I have a pair of the sidi ones, I use them when it is likely to be mucky out and don't want my shoes to get dirty but overshoes would be too hot...
  • I do have the proper endura overshoes, but fancied something for when drier and less ugly than the neoprene Enduras.
In-laws wanted suggestions for my bday and these fitted the bill as would not have paid the money for them myself
  • I love my oversocks, perfect for keeping the white shoes clean and feet surprisingly snug when it's chilly.
I've got a pair of the Assos coversocks, but the best BY FAR are Prendas' own: cheap, perfect fit and effective.
    Great service too.
  • how about the self cut thing?

I've got a couple of pairs - just stick them on the shoes uncut then cut across the dotted line from the top to bottom of cleat. Worn and washed mine loads and no issues with the tears increasing.
    Cervelo P3
    Bianchi Infinito
    Cannondale CAAD10
  • There's a dotted line, just cut along it. They fray over time, but then again they would 'cos they're only socks. The Prendas ones have reinforced heel and cleat cut outs. Get the scissors out...

Have had several pairs of the Assos oversocks over the years. Have not ripped any further then what I cut and they do last. Not warm enough for real winter riding though and more suited to Spring/Autumn.

They are a disposable item... but should last 2 seasons easily, They are tougher than they look and just keep the crap off your shoes until the summer when it is dry and clean.
