I've been told that a frequent use of the seat clamp can be detrimental to a carbon frame in that area.
I have to remove the saddle everytime I put the bikes in the car and when I'm done with the riding I leave the saddle in place but I don't lock the clamp particularly tight/ride ready.
So,dentrimental for the carbon ?? I don't belive so,but better safe than sorry with some opinions of yours

  • Just want to bump this thread, I have a meta 5.5 carbon and had the same question. Also, is it safe to fit a QR seat clamp to my frame?

You could always get a dropper seatpost, bit more weight, but well invested!

Best upgrade on my bike ever, given a choice of giving up front suspension or the post, the post stays.
Why would I care about 150g of bike weight, I just ate 400g of cookies while reading this?
