Ok my saddle needs replacing, have read a few of the guides on BikeRadar and have narrowed the search down to these few.
Gusset R
Madison prime
Charge Spoon
Please if you have owned any of these saddles then post your opinions
Any other suggestions at around the £20 - £40 price point are welcome

Spoon is around £25 everywhere :? Unless you go for the ti rails version.
And yep these are all the same saddle- allegedly the Madison one is slightly different though nobody seems to actually know what the differences are. Gusset have the best colours though denim n leopard skin! bay city rollers tartan! Awesome...
Oh, Thebikechain has the Gusset for £18 with free delivery. Rude not to really.Uncompromising extremist0 -

how does a saddle like the above compare to the more expensive saddles like the Fizik Gobi?
I have a Fizik Tundra at the moment, and although my arse is getting used to it, i swear its doing its best to make me infertile! I'd ideally like to replace it, but split to splash the cash on something expensive, or get a bargain saddle like these ones0 -
the spoon is a cracking saddle for the money, Very comfy,
ive got an sdg belo air cro-mo on at the mo and would prolly say the spoons better!!Timmo.

I've had three and if I was being really picky I could say the hull tends to become a little less supportive after a few months but in a way that's no different to riding some XCJ razor-blade that takes months to break in.
At £20-£30 or whatever they are, any criticism would be petty.0 -

I have a tundra on the anthem and when I get off that and onto my hybrid it's like riding around on an extremely comfy sofaWhether you're a king or a little street sweeper, sooner or later you'll dance with the reaper.

Funny thing about the Spoon, for me at least, it feels quite hard for the first few minutes of any ride, then I seem to forget I'm sitting on anything. Best saddle I have ever had, including the Selle Rolls on my road bike.
I find it strange that people regularly complain about expensive Fizik saddles - if they are uncomfortable why use them?I don't do smileys.

I was always a fan of a saddle with more padding than is fashionable. I now have two Charge Spoons and love them. I am doing an Ironman on one next year.

spoon for me, i have the ti in whiteBoardman Hybrid Pro
Planet X XLS0 -
Been using a Selle Italia C2 Gel Flow for 4 weeks now on my roadbike. £40 best price from Planet-X in white. Most other places £50 if you want other colours. Weight 240g. Found it really comfortable compared to my standard Boardman saddle. Commute everyday for 40 mins each way. 3hr weekend rides have been good and I haven't even stopped to question my comfort.
Would recommend if you don't mind spending a little more near £40 as this saddle is real leather and not synthetic. The gel inside is nice and firm but also "squiggy".

I've always been a fan of the SDG Bel Air RL saddles, had a few of them now. Although I must confess that I've not tried the spoon (perhaps I should).
Chainreaction are doing the 2010 version in a host of colour combinations for about £38.

Just to revive this thread. I have now had several Charge Spoons on several bikes for several years, and for me they are FAB!

I always had a Selle Rolls on my road bikes and swore it was the best saddle made. So much so that I used one on my mountain bikes for many years.
But a couple of years ago I tried a spoon - and now I have one on all my bikes, my (teenage) kids have them too.
I realise saddles are personal, but the spoon is a top notch perch, especially for £20 quid. And it looks good to boot0 -
Charge spoon for me , got a ltd one Black with green . Had 3 now and only changed if they didn't match the bike0
