ahhhh. JANET! I remember the heady days of uni internet access...in my department, we had our own spur, so used to see some astonishing rates!

Still raining? You know Lancaster. =) To be fair, it doesn't rain that much, but we do get rain when everyone else is enjoying the snow...

The building's coming along nicely. The new ISS building was completed last year, as was the Learning Zone in Alexandra Square. The Charles Carter building looks like it's almost complete (in front of the George Fox building), and the swanky new sports centre should open next summer.

Shame I'm being TUPEd across to Lancashire County Council in February.

I bet that place looks completely different now from how I remember. I left just as they were kicking most of the new building work off, although South West campus had been there for a bit, as had the big green copper IT building at the end of the main campus. Have they done anything with the underpass?

That "big green copper IT building" is called InfoLab21, and is where I'm sitting right now. :D The new ISS building is just opposite InfoLab21.

The underpass is having some work done on it at the moment as part of the Alexandra Square and Underpass Rejuvenation Project. I don't know exactly what they're doing to the underpass, but a new lift's going in. I think they're going to brighten it up, judging by the last page of http://www.lancs.ac.uk/alexsquare/Docum ... isplay.pdf

You know, I couldn't for the life of me remember what it was called. I only worked in there once, when showing a big project we'd put together for the Underpass Art/Media system thing they installed a few years ago. I spent most of my time hanging out in the music studio at the other end of campus, or in town.

    County College ftw!

I was allocated to Pendle (all staff are assigned to a college if they don't already have one); we had James May at our grad ceremony this year; he's a Pendle alumnus, and was being awarded an honourary degree. I didn't meet him though.

Getting 4.50Mb/s up here in Aviemore using Demon Internet.

Snowing here by the way, if any of you are skiers the slopes should be in great condition this weekend.

It's BT. They lie about everything. I sometimes think it's the same company as the BBC.
