Interesting the way they've done the route. 2 days around JHB, then fly to the eastern Cape and head towards Cape Town. Should be a decent training race for some guys as there is some hilly terrain and the weather will be ok.

I'm guessing more than a few riders would already have acclimatised to the heat after riding the Tour Down Under, Tour of Qatar and Tour of Oman.
probably beats riding in a second tier early season European race where it's probably snowing and road surface has turned to ice bceause the temperature is hovering around O degrees C..0
