Right, still on 25mm Gator Skins on my Tricross. Have 28mm Snicker Plus's in the garage which I was considering putting back on. However, have been thinking of sticking on even wider tyres for more security over the harder, colder months. Not wanting to do the ice spikers, but maybe something a bit chunkier that could offer some more grip.

Any recommendations?

I have Swalbe Racing Ralphs 700 x 35 on at the moment - bit chunkier but the grip is excellent and they don't seem to have much rolling resistance

Have you ridden over ice/snow with them? I know no tyre (excepy maybe the ice spikers) will hold up in the hard, black ice, but needing something to give me more comfort on the wet, greasy, leave mush covered roads.

I just bought some Schwalbe Snow Studs, don't trust my Continental semi slicks with next week's impending snow.
I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.
